General questions

Hannah Blount Jewelry is available by email from 10 am to 5 pm EST, Monday through Friday. Contact the team at studio@hannahblount.com.

All orders are gift-wrapped and do not include a receipt.

Each gift-wrapped piece is stylized with a variety of jewelry boxes of velvet or ornate floral designs to create an elegant, one-of-a-kind gift-giving experience. These gift boxes often include a green velvet pouch and relevant information about your piece.

If you would like to include a handwritten note with your order, please include your message in the “Special Instructions for HBJ” box on the checkout page.

We have partnered with several independent financing companies to provide you with more flexibility and options.

At check out, select either ‘Shop Pay Installments’, ‘Klarna‘, or ‘Afterpay‘ as your payment method to go through the application process. If your application is approved, these companies will allow you to pay in installments. To learn more about their terms and conditions, please visit their respective websites.

Once you check out with one of these independent financing companies, we will process your order as normal and send the jewelry you ordered when ready. You will continue to work directly with your financing company to make your installment payments. Please note these financing companies are separate from Hannah Blount Jewelry. As a result, we are not responsible for their actions or services.

Note: Depending on your geographic location and total amount due at check-out, only some of these independent financing companies may offer financing services to you.

Shipping & Delivery

We ship all orders via USPS or FedEx, depending on the destination and the type of shipment. To keep your piece safe in transit (and because our insurance makes us), a signature is required upon delivery.

If you would prefer delivery without a signature requirement, please reach out to us before your order ships and we’re happy to discuss the options with you.

For more details and additional FAQs on shipping, please see the Shipping page.

No worries! Both USPS and FedEx will typically leave a notice flagging the failed delivery. Often they will indicate on the notice if they plan to attempt delivery again or if they will hold the package at their office.

You can also contact the carrier directly. Using your tracking link, you can visit the carrier’s website to reschedule delivery, request a pickup location, or update your delivery preferences.

To pick up the package, remember to bring your ID to your local post office or FedEx location.

If a package isn’t claimed within a certain amount of time, it will eventually be returned to our studio. We will reach out if a package is returned to us but we will need to charge shipping for a second attempt.

Since these mail carriers are a separate business from HBJ, there is a limit on what we can do from our end (as the sender). That said, please feel free to contact us if you run into any issues, as we are happy to help in any way we can!

You should automatically receive an email from us once a shipping label is created that includes the tracking number. You should be able to click on the tracking number and follow your package as it makes its way to you!

If you do not receive an email, please reach out as the system can occasionally glitch. We are always happy to provide an update on the shipping status as needed.

For the time being, the HBJ studio serves as a private workspace. We're unable to offer in-studio order pick-ups at this time. Thank you for understanding!

If you need to return a piece to us or send us an heirloom stone, please ship your jewelry/gems inside a sturdy shipping box. We say this with love (and a little begging).

The small paper jewelry box your piece arrives in is not a shipping box - it’s just meant to hold the jewelry inside the package (that's why it has a fancy ribbon on it!). If that little box (or a loose gemstone!) goes straight into the mail on its own, or inside a padded envelope, there’s a real risk the jewelry could be damaged along the way.

Packages go through a lot in transit. They get tossed, stacked under piles of other boxes, dropped, and occasionally slammed around during sorting and transport. A padded envelope just doesn’t offer enough protection for something as special as jewelry and gems.

Our general rule of thumb when packing is: Would this survive if someone accidentally stepped on the box? If the answer is yes, you’re probably in good shape.

So when sending something to us, please place the item inside a proper shipping box with a little padding (tissue paper, bubble wrap... even paper towels work!). Feel free to reuse the shipping box your pieces arrived in or something similar. Your future jewelry self (and our bench team) will thank you!

returns, exchanges, and repairs

Please visit our Returns & Exchanges page for more information.

All international orders are final sale.

Please note we are also not able to issue any refunds on the original duties & taxes paid by the receiver on behalf of your order. These fees are remitted to the destination country at the time of order placement.

We stand behind the quality of our jewelry and are happy to provide repairs due to manufacturing issues free of charge for one year from the date of purchase from our online store. If you purchased an HBJ piece from one of our retail partners, you are subject to their store policies. Please work directly with that retailer.

Elective repairs (such as ring sizing or design errors by the customer), damage to pieces that are NOT due to a manufacturing issue (such as getting run over by a car, which has actually happened!), or repairs required after one year will be accepted on a case-by-case basis. If accepted, we will charge an additional fee to cover out-of-pocket costs.

This page contains the most current version of our repair policies and supersedes all prior repair policies offered by HBJ. We reserve the right, in our sole discretion, to modify this policy or discontinue our repair services without notice at any time. It is your responsibility to check our website periodically for changes. Your continued use of or access to our website or purchase of products from our website following the posting of any changes to this policy constitutes acceptance of those changes.

Please contact our studio for repair authorization.

As of January 2018, Hannah Blount Jewelry no longer creates plated jewelry and cannot replace or repair vermeil.

Unfortunately, we do not offer engraving services at this time. However, once you receive your piece, you can always take your new HBJ piece to a local engraver.

Finding the right stone is part of the creative process at Hannah Blount Jewelry. We’re drawn to natural gemstones with character: unexpected colors, intriguing inclusions, and organic shapes that make each stone feel entirely its own. Hannah spends time sourcing stones through trusted dealers, at gem shows around the world, and at the renowned Tucson gem shows, where miners, cutters, and gemstone specialists gather to share their finds.

Our diamonds are recycled, including antique, vintage, and post-consumer stones that have been given new life. Antique diamonds were cut using traditional techniques from earlier eras, while vintage diamonds reflect more recent periods. Post-consumer diamonds have been recovered from previously owned jewelry and are ready for a new chapter. We work with trusted dealers who specialize in identifying and dating these stones, helping us understand their history and what makes each one special.

We have a particular love for Montana sapphires, many of which come from family-run mines. We source these through cutters who buy directly from the mines, creating a closer connection between the people who uncover the rough stones and those who bring out their natural beauty. We often shop with one of our favorite stonecutters directly from the mine, picking out our favorite rough stones for cutting.

Sourcing is an ongoing adventure, and we’re always searching for stones that stop us in our tracks. We build relationships with trusted dealers who share our appreciation for gemstones and our commitment to thoughtful, responsible sourcing.
