Season Of Meaning by Hannah Blount Jewelry | Holiday Memories | Alex Polcari

The studio chatted with Alex Polcari, client + friend of HBJ, about her favorite holiday traditions, her sentimental Vanity ring and her incredible year of motherhood.

"Every Christmas morning my Mom makes cinnamon rolls and raspberry rolls - they are out of this world delicious, and it wouldn't be Christmas without them. After the holidays are over, we throw our Christmas tree out the second story window - I can't wait to hear my daughter Leona laugh at it in January.

Season Of Meaning by Hannah Blount Jewelry | Holiday Memories | Alex Polcari

I celebrated my 31st birthday in April, and Anthony (my husband) surprised me with a one of a kind Hannah Blount Jewelry ring. The stone is an opal, which is my daughter's birthstone. I couldn't love it anymore than I do, and not a day goes by that I don't wear it!

I like to describe motherhood as a "rewiring" I'm still me - but I've been reprogrammed in a way. My daughter is always my first thought, even when we aren't together - it's hard to describe until you've felt it. I've learned to take my shoes off when I walk in the door, to follow her lead, and that her laugh is the best sound... ever. My favorite book about Motherhood is called "Great With Child" by Beth Ann Fennelly and want to share this wonderful passage about being a Mom because I think sums it up beautifully - "Motherhood makes you stronger even as it makes you weaker. Your new sensitivity is a strength, and you should see it that way."

Don’t forget to let us know how you celebrate the true meaning of the season...
