A new setting is popping up in my Wedding and Engagement collection...
I have loved mosaics as a designer throughout all my collections-- their nod to the Art Nouveau era can be found especially in my Vanity collection. I wanted to create an accessible way for my clients to have the glimmer and statement of a grand diamond; rings that feature mosaics of diamonds give the illusion of one large stone.
Playing around with these ideas, I found the best way to do this was to set the diamonds in an ocular shape creating the silhouette of vintage, eye jewelry. Eyes have appeared in jewelry trends for hundreds of years, from ancient Egyptian amulets to 19th century Lover’s Eye miniatures and pendants. The Ocular rings in particular evoke the shape of an evil eye- believed to ward off danger and harm.
Warm 14k gold offsets the icy, antique diamond mosaic; the settings' ornate details around the diamond add depth to the alternative engagement rings. To enhance the mosaic's natural glimmer, the diamonds are bead-set as a tapered, bezel-seat envelopes its gemstones.
