Faustina Senior Deified 141 C.E. Struck 147/148 C.C., Rome mint. Silver denarius of 3.2 grams, 17mm. Obverse, draped bust, Reverse, Vesta (goddess of the hearth) holding simpulum and palladium
Faustina Junior 147-175, Struck 156-161 CE during the reign of her father Antoninus Pius, before the reign of her husband Marcus Aurelius. Silver denarius of 3.3 grams, 18 mm. Rome mint. Obverse, bare headed and draped bust of Faustina. Reverse, Concordia, holding corncucopia and patera. (Goddess of harmony and peace)
Measures 34mm from the top of the ear wires, and weighs 4.98 grams. The drop measures 20.3 x 21.21mm.
Earrings are reversible. Ear wires can be removed and reattached so the coin can flip.
All metal has a matte finish.
Faustina, Concordia & Vesta Coin Cameo Earrings
Faustina Senior lived 100-140 CE. She was Empress from 138-140 CE. She was known for her generosity, charitable works, and devotion to her family. After her death, her husband Emperor Antoninus Pius had her deified by the Roman Senate, and she became one of Rome's most revered empresses. Temples and commemorative coins were struck in her honor, often depicting goddesses such as Vesta (hearth and home) reflecting the virtues she embodied.
Faustina Junior lived 130-175 CE. She was Empress from 145-175 CE. She was known for being the daughter of Antoninus Pius and Faustina the Elder, and one of Rome's most influential empresses. She accompanied her husband, Emporer Marcus Aurelius on military campaigns, earned the title Mater Castrorum ("Mother of the Camp"), and was celebrated as the mother of a large imperial family. Coins frequently paired her portrait with goddesses such as Concordia (harmony and unity) emphasizing her role as a symbol of stability and the imperial household.

It glows, shifts with the light, and somehow looks a little different every time I look at it, which is approximately 900 times a day. I truly adore Hannah Blount's designs. The setting of this creation is exquisite and the barnacles are perfect. This aquamarine is a moody gem and seems to transform from day to day much like weather changing from stormy and cloudy to fresher skies. It's a beautiful piece! I love Hannah's drawings. I would prefer a gold bezel around this piece w a silver backing and chain... but it works really well without the bezel too. IF the drawing itself was a little bigger that would be awesome! I look forward to future pieces!

The Montana sapphire is normally a moody greenish-gray but can appear a lighter green or even a shade of blue in different lighting. Oh my gosh! These pearls! The Magnolias are gorgeous with their lavender pink hues. So so pretty! And of course adorned with the gold barnacles these pearls are extra special! The hook clasp is funky and fun and matches the sea vibe of the barnacles so I enjoy putting the clasp on the side to be shown not hidden since the fish hook clasp is so unique and Ruthie B Special Delight!

This necklace is aptly named 'enchanted.' Hannah has a unique gift in her ability to 'read' each stone's unique attributes, and dialogue with her materials accordingly. When I wear this, I morph into a miniature mermaid, with this as my pool. Amazing craftswomanship.
