One of the worlds greatest and most iconic coins. Ancient Greece, Athens. 421-365 BCE. Silver tetra drachma of 17.1 grams. Athens mint. Obverse, Athena, wearing olive leaf headdress. Reverse, owl, symbol of wisdom. Crescent moon behind, symbolizes victory at the battle of Salamis. Olive branch above. Struck during the peak of Athenian power in art, culture and politics. The worlds first double sided coin when first struck, worlds largest and heaviest coins when first struck. As well as the worlds first true international currency.

These ancient artifacts are sourced from dealers who specialize in coins, maps, and antiques. Symbols of history, geography, and mythical lore, each coin has a unique story: from the little-known women who ruled the roman empire to the mythology of Greek and Roman goddesses and creatures.

Care: Coins are made up from ancient metals that have developed an age-patina. Clean with warm water, mild soap, and a soft toothbrush. Dry immediately afterwards. Never use commercial coin-cleaning solutions or metal polish, which can strip the surface and texture.

For Domestic (US): 

We offer free shipping on orders over $300 and ship either via USPS or FedEx, depending on the size of the order. You can opt to pay for a faster shipping method at checkout. A signature is required at delivery. 

For International: 

We ship via DHL and, when possible, with a signature requirement. We are only able to ship to a limited number of countries. International customers are required to pay for all shipping and customs costs.

Paying in Installments
