What do you do at Hannah Blount Jewelry?
I create little treasures from the most precious materials on the planet. It's pretty much the coolest job ever.
Where are you from?
The woods of Connecticut.
What is your favorite gemstone?
Every gemstone has a story, and they're all improbable enough to be miraculous. I love the dendritic quartzes and agates because they're little snapshots of ancient history.

Which HBJ collection expresses your personal style best?
Vanity is the collection I spend all of my time on, but it also happens to be my favorite. I love the uniqueness of each gemstone. There's something timeless, empowering, and altogether self-avowing about one-of-a-kind jewelry. The hard working women of the world, the mothers, the warriors, the crusaders, the quiet dignitaries, we deserve the indulgence of a small rarity.
What inspires you?
Strong women in history, women history forgot, my grandmothers, my mom.

My son, driving fast.
Growing up, what was your dream job?
When I was little I wanted to be The Queen (I don't know of what). I could never understand why girls wanted to be princesses...The Queen was in charge. I was a bossy child.
We eat a lot in this studio. What is your favorite baked good?
Hannah's sugar cookies.
What're the odds Beryl will call you into his office for an HR violation?
Beryl will probably never call me into his office for anything. We both know what he did last Easter.
