Barnacle Ring

This thick silver ring is encrusted with 5 dainty barnacles. An unexpected source of sparkle, these nautical ocean creatures make perfect decoration for fingers. 

A 2.5mm bright silver band with silver or 14k gold barnacles; available with or without a gemstone – gemstones are 0.01ct white diamond or chocolate diamond.

Each piece is handmade to order, so please allow one to two weeks for the creative process. 

Sizing note: the bands are round so they tend to fit bigger than they are, the HBJ studio reccomends going down a half size unless you're buying multiple to stack. In that case, we reccomend ordering your usual size. Don't see your size? Please contact the studio directly for sizing inquiries.

About the gemstone

Repurposed from various sources, these “break-out” diamonds are an ethical variation of modern diamonds. Melee diamonds, or small round diamonds under 0.20ct, enhance every design they’re featured in.

Origins: Various secondary markets including  auctions, estate sales, and refineries.
Care: While diamonds are the earth’s hardest gemstone, they can still break. Avoid dropping diamonds onto hard surfaces. To clean your diamond piece, soak in warm, soapy water and remove any dirt with a toothbrush or the like. It is safe to clean with an ultrasonic and steam cleaner.
Healing Properties: Diamonds are believed to promote radiance, self-sovereignty, and fearlessness.

The Story of Ruthie B.

An homage to Hannah's childhood and the nostalgia of her fishing home, this collection comprises gritty nautical-inspired pieces. The collection is named after Hannah's father's fishing vessel, the Ruthie B, which was named after Hannah's mother. Ruthie B. celebrates the mystery and natural peculiarity of the ocean that painted the artist’s childhood. In their weathered island home, Hannah and her six siblings learned how to entertain themselves amidst the chaos that comes with such a large family. The dingy fishing paraphernalia that littered their backyard was a playground of inspiration: raw snapshots of beauty against the clean backdrop of their hometown of Nantucket.
