Rubellite

Tourmalines are beloved by HBJ for their singular inclusions that evoke a variety of still-beauty, from lily ponds to watercolor paintings. The discovery of tourmaline occurred during the 1500s in Brazil, where it was mistaken for emerald. Tourmaline’s wide spectrum of colors earned its name from the Sinhalese word for “mixed gems”- while green tourmalines are the most popular iteration, rubellite is a rich, ruby-red color of tourmaline, which was once confused with ruby.
