Scrimshaw, the technique of hand-engraving + inking illustrations into shells, gemstones and other materials, dates back to whalers of the mid 18th century; scrimshanders of yore hand-etched pieces to pass the time at night while assail. Each illustration in the Scrimshaw collection is hand-carved by Hannah, combining sentimentality with the endless inspiration the ocean provides, and each piece serving as a symbol of protection and nostalgia. Drops occur on a bi-annual basis (typically in the late spring and early fall).
