Swamp-Lit Idocrase Vanity Earrings
These earrings glow with the moody, luminous green of a swamp at dusk, deep, mossy, and lit from within by pockets of golden light. Their rose-cut facets catch flashes of chartreuse and olive as they move, echoing the way light flickers across still, murky water.
Natural inclusions drift beneath the surface like suspended leaves or soft sediment, giving each stone an earthy, untamed depth. Held in gold prongs and suspended from delicate ear wires, the earrings feel organic yet refined; raw nature shaped into something quietly radiant.
Idocrase, also known as vesuvianite, is a rare gem named for its discovery near Italy’s Mount Vesuvius- though it is now found in various places across the world. Ranging from golden-green to brownish-olive, it’s prized for its glassy luster and distinctive, earthy vibrancy. The HBJ studio loves this particular gem not only for its antique chartreuse coloring, but for its mossy inclusions.

Care: Idocrase is relatively soft-
make sure to avoid knocking or dropping your idocrase jewelry onto hard and/or abrasive surfaces. To keep your idocrase jewelry clean, use warm water with mild soap and a soft toothbrush or cloth. Do not use a steam cleaner or ultrasonic cleaner.

Oh my gosh...Hannah's art work of the Seaborn Nautilus is absolutely beautiful. I picked this Scrimshaw because the Nautilus is ancient and mysterious in it's alien underworld beauty. I treasure this special piece dearly as it is a little work of art on my neck. A reminder life is precious and there are many mysteries we do not understand above and below...but the Nautilus knows...
