These gemstones are nestled among hand-carved silver roses, each sculpted to evoke the softness of cottage garden blooms and the weathered beauty of Nantucket’s coastal flora. Tourmalines are beloved by HBJ for their singular inclusions that evoke a variety of still-beauty, from lily ponds to watercolor paintings. The discovery of tourmaline occurred during the 1500s in Brazil, where it was mistaken for emerald. Tourmaline’s wide spectrum of colors earned its name from the Sinhalese word for “mixed gems”—green tourmalines are the most popular iteration and a studio favorite for their lush and organic refinement. Pink tourmaline is beloved for its rosy shades.
