Beryl, Goshenite Jewelry

Beryl is a beryllium aluminum silicate mineral that occurs in a wide range of colors. The most familiar are aqua (aquamarine) and green (emerald), but the gem also appears in pink to orange and purple (morganite), colorless (goshenite), yellow to golden brown (heliodor), and even red (bixbite). It is also the name of Hannah's dog, who has earned spinoff nicknames such as Ber Boo, Berstopherson, and Ber Chicken. It was named for a beryl discovery in Goshen, Massachusetts.

Care: Although beryls are sturdy, they are not invincible- they can break. Avoid dropping them onto hard surfaces. To clean your beryl jewelry, soak in warm, soapy water and remove any dirt with a toothbrush or the like. Do not use an ultrasonic or steam cleaner.
