Vanity is my love affair with gemstones and color come to life. This collection celebrates the often discouraged act of adorning one's self; I have always loved organic, unusual gemstones that are considered imperfect by many but are full of character.
I grew up in a religious household and was taught to value humility and never be vain. The lesson of selflessness was important, but the focus on only inner beauty didn’t resonate with me as someone who wanted to create beauty. And thus, a feeling of shame was introduced alongside my desire to feel beautiful-- Vanity is a rejection of that shame.
The synonymous Vanity prongs are claws- they’re sharp, they’re aggressive but they’re still dainty and beautiful. The gemstones used are bold yet luxe, so these combinations of contrasts are what I want the women wearing Vanity to feel.
