Gemstone: Dendritic Agate
Named for the Greek word meaning tree-like, dendritic agates were formed by a series of geological coincidences almost 100 million years ago. The presence of varying minerals accounts for the variety of colors found in these rare gemstones: the iron and manganese seep through very fine fractures in the agate’s surface and crystallize inside,
appearing like stretching branches growing towards the sun’s light.
MOHs Hardness: 6.5-7
Origins: Deccan Traps of India
Care: To clean your dendritic agate jewelry, soak in warm, soapy water and remove any dirt with a cloth or the like.
Healing Properties: Dendritic agate is considered to promote growth and wisdom through inner work.
