THE RUTHIE B. COLLECTION

The Ruthie B. collection was born on Nantucket, in a salt-worn house full of storms and siblings, where Hannah first learned to find beauty along the shoreline. It takes its name from her father's fishing vessel, a boat he built by hand and named for her mother, and each piece carries that same raw spirit of the sea: its shifting blues and greens, its stormy grays, its sunlit gold.

These are handmade heirlooms shaped by weathered textures and barnacle-worn detail, objects that feel discovered rather than made, holding the color and memory of the water that raised her.

THE STORY OF

THE RUTHIE B. RING

Hannah designed her own engagement ring first: a single gemstone held in a clean bezel, scattered with a few of her signature barnacles. That ring became the heart of HBJ's Ruthie B. design, made for the bride-to-be or anyone whose story is tied to the shore, the salt, and the pull of the sea.

THE STORY OF

THE SKATE EGG CASE

As a little girl walking the beaches of Nantucket, Hannah searched for treasures. The ones she loved most were skate egg cases, the leathery black pouches known as mermaid's purses. Made of keratin, these rectangular cases are laid by female skates along the ocean floor, who return to the same offshore reefs to lay their eggs generation after generation. Once the young have hatched, the empty cases drift in on the tide and come to rest along the shore, small dark relics of the sea waiting to be found.

THE STORY OF

SEASHELLS

Hannah has always been a gatherer of shells, moving slowly along the tide line, drawn to what the ocean leaves behind: a spiral worn smooth by the surf, a fragment bleached by the sun, the curve of something that was once a small home. That beachcomber's eye shapes her work today. Her shell necklaces and duet earrings hold those found forms in precious metal, each piece feeling gathered rather than made.

THE STORY OF

THE BARNACLE

Like fragments of the sea carried ashore, the barnacles on our jewelry hold the rough-and-tumble nostalgia of the water. They remind us of attachments we hold close; loved ones, memories, fur babies... Each one is hand-carved, gathering in quiet clusters that speak to endurance and belonging, to the resilience of holding fast through changing tides.
