Snakes of Glycon Prasiolite Intaglio Waiting Ring

The snakes of the Roman god Glycon come to life in Lala Ragimov's hand-carved, green quartz cabochon. Based on the botanical illustrations by 18th-century illustrator and naturalist Maria Sibylla Merian, this naturalistic still life is ethereal in hue and embellished in a Baroque style that evokes the complex beauty of Merian's own artwork and the mythical mystery of Glycon. Merian's groundbreaking work in her field of study married her passion for fine art with Earth's natural wonders; that harmony is evoked in this one-of-a-kind ring's collaborative origin and design.

Green quartz hand-carved by Lala Ragimov. Available in bright silver with 14k gold. Approximately 17x20mm. Size 6.75.

About The Gemstone

Prasiolite—also know as green quartz or green amethyst—is a verdant quartz named for its lush hues. This organically refined gemstone varies from mossy opaque hues to translucent green with geometric facets or arboresque inclusions.
MOHS Hardness: 7
Origins: Various
Care: Avoid dropping your quartz jewelry onto hard surfaces: quartz is only as strong as its inclusions allow. Do NOT soak intaglios in water as it can seep behind the stone. It has been sealed with epoxy as an added measure, so limited liquid is appropriate, but constant immersion and soaking can eventually lead to water damage. To clean, use a damp cloth or toothbrush and dry quickly. Do not use ultrasonic or steam cleaners.
Healing Properties: Promotes heart-opening, self-love, and connection to the self.

The Story of Waiting

Hannah's first collection, Waiting was developed as her college thesis and is ever-evolving like the nature it’s inspired by. This collection of jewelry comprises organic shapes, such as eggs and branches, waiting for the rain to evolve them to their next phase of life. Waiting commemorates nature in its most primal stages and celebrates its stark dualities: eggs symbolize life and new beginnings, while barren branches tend to connote spectrality and finality. Yet both harbor life within them, despite preconceived notions of their true meaning. When studying composition and balance, there is no greater master of this than Mother Nature—the original composer. Elegant and minimal, yet organic and eerie: the Waiting collection honors the complex contrasts of nature’s organic artistry. Shop the full Waiting Collection
