A delicate strand of baroque, freshwater pearls hang lightly like streaks of cirrus cloud across a cerulean sky. The handmade, one-of-a-kind pearl necklace is composed of knotted blue silk, 14k gold barnacles and a fish hook clasp, that add depth and grit to the whimsical strand.

Knotted, blue silk with baroque, freshwater pearls and barnacles. Pearls graduate from 7x7mm to 11x14mm. Available in 14k gold. Approximately 24.5in in length with fish hook clasp.

About The Gemstone

Freshwater baroque pearls are beloved for their gloriously irregular, non-spherical shapes and varying orient (the shimmering iridescence that appears to coat each pearl) and luster. Like all pearls, freshwater baroque pearls are formed when an irritant becomes trapped in a mollusk. The mollusk secretes a fluid, called nacre, which coats the irritant layer upon layer until a pearl is formed.

The Story of Ruthie B.

An homage to Hannah's childhood and the nostalgia of her fishing home, this collection comprises gritty nautical-inspired pieces. The collection is named after Hannah's father's fishing vessel, the Ruthie B, which was named after Hannah's mother. Ruthie B. celebrates the mystery and natural peculiarity of the ocean that painted the artist’s childhood. In their weathered island home, Hannah and her six siblings learned how to entertain themselves amidst the chaos that comes with such a large family. The dingy fishing paraphernalia that littered their backyard was a playground of inspiration: raw snapshots of beauty against the clean backdrop of their hometown of Nantucket.
