Hannah Blount Jewelry’s Scrimshaw collection is an ever-growing, oceanic ode to the scrimshanders of yore who created their hand-etched pieces to pass the time aboard their ships—often working with the current and movement of the vessel to create their designs. A labor of love and a contemporary take on a beloved art form, HBJ’s Scrimshaw collection combines the sentimentality of every HBJ piece with the endless inspiration the ocean provides. Each Scrimshaw piece serves as a symbol of protection, resistance, and nostalgia.
