Mary got Married! 01/10/2012
My dear sister, Mary, got married! She and her new husband, Ernie, celebrated their beautiful wedding on Nantucket this past Saturday. I have never seen her look so beautiful, and they were both beaming the whole time (as were we!). Her color, Orange, was an interesting choice and turned out absolutely stunning. To match the red-orange scarves she had her family wear, I made Pearl and Carnelian earrings for her to wear. I took a few photos of her with them, and I had to include my favorites to show you... We are so happy to see Mary so happy. Look at her smile! 3 Comments Fun with Oxidizing 01/01/2012
Boy Stuff 12/25/2011
Merry Christmas! This year, I gave my boyfriend some handmade gifts. It was actually quite fun coming up with something a boy would wear, but still keeping with my style. I think he just may be my inspiration to start a Men's line... Any suggestions? Order Up! 12/14/2011
It's getting down to the wire! I just added a bunch of great items to my Holiday page, and they are going fast. Make sure to order soon to ensure it gets there before the big day! In the Studio 12/11/2011
Dave is pretty amazing with a camera (hence his company, Las Olas Productions), and he took the time to film me working at my bench! Here is the clip: I have to admit, this does make it look ALOT easier than it is. If it ain't Baroque... Make it Baroque. 12/09/2011
I had the luxury of buying a strand of fantastic white Baroque pearls for a friend's bridal earrings, and have been using the extras in delicious and yummy ways. My favorite has been adding 14k Gold accents via these Barnacles. I think they are just lovely. Since no two are alike, these earrings are truly one-of-a-kind. I won't be adding them to my permanent collection, but you can find this pair for purchase on my Holiday page! Dot Rings 12/08/2011
I've been playing with the idea of stacking rings, and here is just one of many ideas bouncing around my head: Dot Rings! I bundled five on my middle finger, added my Barnacle Ring on a whim, and took this fun Instagram (I told you it was my new obsession...). The dot rings would look fantastic with my heart ring, under my crown ring, along with my gumball rings, barnacle rings, and even my facet rings.... See below for ideas of how to stack them... With my recent upgrade to an iphone, along came a whole new window of opportunity for distraction: Instagram. While on Nantucket last weekend, I meandered along the beach with Dave and Laila and snapped these Instagram photographs: You can see why the island is such an inspiration to me... Wedding Bands 12/06/2011
I had the honor of making the wedding bands for my sister and her fiancee. They wanted something lovely, but simple. So I made two basic bands, three little diamonds set on hers. But how to make them unique? So I carved a special message on the inside, something only they would see: branches. I'm very happy they like them and even happier for the life they are about to embark on together! Post Trunk Show 12/05/2011
This past weekend, Hepburn (on Nantucket) hosted my annual Christmas Stroll trunk show (sans trunk, as was righteously pointed out to me). However, aside from its lacking trunk, the show was a great success. I am SO thrilled at the turnout, and it was wonderful to see such friendly faces! And I sold so many pieces that I will have to work to restock my Holiday page. All good news to me, of course! So stay tuned to see more pieces added and subtracted to Holiday, and again- I can definitely make what you are looking for if it is not in stock! | Follow my Blog:
