Something we should never take for granted is our birthday of independence. 4th of July may be filled with bbq's and watermelon and fireworks, but we should never forget what it is we are celebrating. And ice cream. My neighbors.... Add Comment A little late to be wishing you all a Happy Easter? Well, I for one am still celebrating the great Zombie Jesus Day (as my friend, Jem, so aptly puts it). I took on a daunting challenge for lent this year: gluten. You'd be surprised by the number of goodies that have gluten in them... bread, oatmeal, twix, cake, TJ veggie sticks, beer, pizza, soy sauce... At first I went through withdrawal, feeling shaky and downright hungry at all times of the day. But once I got used to it, I felt truly fantastic. I was even tempted to stay off gluten post Easter... but let's face it, who would I be without my cookie fetish? Although I will be cutting back dramatically, I can't say no to chicken pot pie and these jelly drop cookies I tend to make on the daily. All in all, it's nice to be back. Going to the grocery store hungry is always a bad idea, but going to the grocery store hungry and with a notorious sweet tooth in tow is simply catastrophic. Among other items I picked up were these Easter inspired peanut m&m's. I thought they were so pretty in my Robin's egg bowl that I had to take a picture! Too bad they're already gone... it was only a matter of hours. For those of you who missed SOWA's Cabin Fever event last Sunday, you missed a great show! Here is what my booth looked like, tucked in the corner, set in front of the bleachers. My own little mini store front. It was great to meet so many new people, see so much fabulous local talent, and spread the HBJ love. Even better were the Moondust Macarons down a few aisles from me, a booth I frequented more than once. Another multi frequented and taste tested booth was Elaine Hsieh Chocolatier, who's decadent chocolates had me salivating almost uncomfortably as I debated my sweets purchasing limit (which I exceeded). Also was the lovely Sara Danielle who's work is just so pretty! And thank you to the Droid for taking such a loooooong photog of my booth :) Valentine's Day is just around the corner, so check out my new hearts for the season! This online trunk show exhibits in-stock items that will be perfect for (or from) your special love day sweetie. Enjoy! Happy Thanksgiving from the Blount house! I hope you are overwhelmed with thankfulness and ready to start the December Holidays as soon as the feast is over :) Shelby and I dressed up as Thing 1 and Thing 2, and wreaked havoc around the Harvard Square area. Happy Halloween! I just had to share with you a picture from my birthday party. We had dinner at Dali in Somerville (my favorite place in or around Boston!) Here I am, kissing the frog! It was so wonderful to have all my friends around! Thank you to everyone who came! After my wonderful little trunk show at Hepburn, I joined up with the rest of the Blounts- and Dahmers, Palumbos, Dixons, Travagliones, etc, and we had a family reunion! Below is a photo of me with my Grandma Marnie. And here is a picture of just the Blounts. Aren't we a beautiful family? |
