Vermont

Dave and I decided to take a much needed vacation to lovely Vermont, and what a trip! The weather could not have been more perfect, and the foliage- changing late this year- was in full, brilliant hues.

Dave and I hiked (walked) up one of the slopes at Mad River Glen, and below are a few photographs from said hike (walk). The beautiful waterfall I was lured into climbing led to what Dave describes as a "momentary freak-out" and what I call a "full on panic attack during which I thought I was going to die" when we reached the top. Jumping from one wet rock to another only a few feet from the edge of the waterfall, it turns out, is a huge fear of mine. One of many.
On the road home, Dave played The National for me, and I fell in love with it. Beautiful tunes... the weather was heavenly, too. The ride was a myriad of misty mountains, with clouds creeping in between the peaks. The colors of the trees were enhanced by the grey sky. I know rain can be a letdown in many ways, but I find weather like this to be soothing.

Not pictured here is the "Eating Tour of Vermont" we went on- we hit Cabot Cheese, Nutty Steph's Chocolate, Lake Champlain Chocolate, Three Mountain Cafe, Cold Hollow Cider Mill, Big Picture Maple Donuts, and a lot more that seem to be merging into one general memory of  serious confusion in the belly area. As I went to unpack when I arrived home, I unloaded chocolate fudge, a bacon and sea salt chocolate bar, chocolate coated maple sugar leaves, chocolate maple toffee, maple donuts, and cider donuts... and those were just what ended up stuffed into the side pocket of my handbag. Easy access, if you will. Even more deliciousness is anxiously awaiting morning time when my stomach can handle another dose of sugar.
Best of luck, tummy.

It's nice to be back home...  I can't wait to start my next projects and continue blogging about those!

On a quest to expand my jewelry presence, I rented a car and drove to Newport. There I met with Rose at Down Under Jewelry, an absolutely lovely store in the heart of Newport's shopping area. I will soon be selling here, and I hope you will visit!

On my way back I stopped at Iggy's for some clam cakes (I was in Rhode Island, right?) and chowder (and a root beer float), and passed right by these beautiful visions:
